Narodil se 9.
května 1952 v Teplicích v Čechách.
V letech 1967 až 71 studoval na Střední uměleckoprůmyslové škole v Praze, po
maturitě začal jako pomocný dělník, pracuje v sítotisku, dvě sezóny maluje kulisy
v Krušnohorském divadle v Teplicích.
V letech 1973-79 pokračuje ve studiích na Vysoké škole uměleckoprůmyslové v Praze v
ateliéru užité grafiky a ilustrace (prof. Zdeněk Sklenář, doc. Jiří Mikula).
Zabývá se jak knižní ilustrací, tak grafickou tvorbou. Obdržel ceny na přehlídce
Interexlibris v dánském Frederikshavnu a na soutěži Malé formy grafiky v polské
Lodži.
Žije a tvoří v Praze.

Jiri
Brazda was born on 9 May 1952 in Teplice. Between 1967
and 1971, he attended the Secondary School of Applied Arts in
Prague. Following his graduation, he began to work as a printer, and for two
seasons designed stage sets in the Krusnohorske Theatre in Teplice.
In 1973,
Brazda was accepted to the University of Applied Arts in Prague and for the next
five years studied in the Applied Graphic Art and
Illustration Studio under Prof. Zdenek Sklenar and senior lecturer Dr.
Jiri Mikula.
Brazda
is renowned for his book illustrations and graphic art. He has been
awarded numerous prizes, namely at the Interexlibris exhibition in
Frederikshavn (Denmark) and at a competition of Small Graphic Art Forms in Lodź
(Poland).
Brazda
lives and works in Prague.
